Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency (PEI) is a condition characterized by the deficiency of exocrine pancreatic enzymes, leading to the inability to digest food properly or maldigestion. Although treatable with pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT), it can be difficult to diagnose, resulting in delayed and suboptimal treatment.
