A study with 307 participants investigated whether including a run-in period with acetaminophen would affect the outcomes of acute pain randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Among patients with acute musculoskeletal pain, the use of an acetaminophen run-in strategy did not significantly alter pain outcomes compared to those without a run-in period.
