Role of vitamin supplement in preventing ARI in elderly

With a meta-analysis of 12 trials (41552 participants), experts analyzed the role of vitamin D supplementation in preventing acute respiratory infection (ARI). results revealed that vitamin D supplementation likely does not reduce ARI incidence in older adults. However, there's a potential benefit for those with vitamin D deficiency. Little to no difference in adverse events or mortality was observed.
