A sample of 74 children with cerebral palsy was included. The authors enumerate the social function development based on the Communication Function Classification System (CFCS) levels. At 8 to 12 years, 35 out of 45 children in CFCS level I met social functioning age expectations.CFCS levels II to V had social function skills significantly below what was expected for age. Experts inferred a strong link between CFCS and social functioning.
