"Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity."
Hippocrates

Investigators evaluated the 1-year outcomes of Pantoprazole vs. placebo in ICU patients at risk for gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB). Trial included 2092 patients who were randomized 1:1 to receive Pantoprazole or placebo. Compared to placebo, Pantoprazole reduced the clinically important GI bleeding in ICU. However, 1-year mortality, health care resource use or improvements in employment status were similar in both groups.
