"Wherever the art of Medicine is loved, there is also a love of Humanity."

Researchers assessed whether overlapping anesthesiologist responsibilities increase the risks of morbidity and mortality for 866,453 adults undergoing surgery with anesthesia. Findings indicated that increasing overlapping coverage by anesthesiologists is associated with increased surgical patient morbidity and mortality. Hence, the potential effects of staffing ratios in perioperative team models should be considered.
